Bar’d Work are back with a brand new production of Shakespeare’s classic comedy caper “The Comedy of Errors”

In just one year, Bar’d Work have produced three sell-out seasons of riotous, bawdy and wild Shakespeare in Sydney and Melbourne, playing to packed pubs with high energy productions of “Much Ado About Nothing” and “Twelfth Night” and causing a huge stir on the entertainment scene.

Their new production of “As You Like It” is currently playing to sell out audiences in pubs around Sydney.

Shakespeare’s “The Comedy of Errors” is a classic comedy of mistaken identities, servants & masters, slapstick and mayhem.

“The Comedy of Errors”  is presented by Bar’d Work, and directed by Philippe Klaus.

What are we looking for?

We need performers that are skilled with Shakespeare, have some improvisation experience, and if possible, ability to play a musical instrument or sing.

This production will have no set, and very little costume. It will be performed in different venues every night, so actors will need to be able to think quick, adapt and play. This is incredibly exciting and satisfying work.

Rehearsals will be three weeknights from 6:30pm and one day over the weekend from 12 to 6.

Bar’d Work operate a conscious casting policy. All artists are encouraged to apply.

Preparation:

We ask actors to prepare a classical monologue and a verse/chorus of a song (if they sing/play an instrument).
